Cleveland Browns coaching search: George Warhop hired as offensive line coach

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Todd Monken is bringing George Warhop back home.

Warhop, who coached the Browns offensive line from 2009-13, was hired away from the Ravens on Wednesday to join new head coach Todd Monken as offensive line coach.

With Warhop’s 29 years of experience as an offensive line coach, the rebuilding line will be in great hands.

Warhop, who coached Hall of Fame left tackle Joe Thomas to four first-team All-Pro selections and five Pro Bowls in his five seasons in Cleveland, has a great reputation throughout the league as one of the best in the business.

Warhop is one of several Ravens coaches expected to join Monken, who served as offensive coordinator there the past three seasons.

Warhop also previously spent time with the Texans (2022), Jaguars (2019-21), Buccaneers (2014-18), 49ers (2005-08), Cowboys (2003-04), Cardinals (1998-2002) and Rams (1996-97).

Prior to entering the NFL ranks with St. Louis, he served 11 seasons as a collegiate coach at Boston College (1994-95), SMU (1993), New Mexico (1990), Vanderbilt (1987-89), Kansas (1984-86) and his alma mater, Cincinnati (1983).

Warhop also spent two seasons (1991-92) as the offensive coordinator for the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football.
