Local chef Katie Button participates as contestant in new culinary competition show

Local award-winning chef and co-founder of Curate and La Bodega, Katie Button, has announced that she participated as a contestant on a new culinary competition.

According to a post on Button’s Facebook, she participated as a contestant on America’s Culinary Cup, hosted by Padma Lakshmi and judged by Michael Cimarusti and Wylie Dufresne.

Button says the show will premiere March 4 at 9 p.m. on CBS while also streaming on Paramount+.

“Going head-to-head with some of America’s best chefs was, hands-down, one of the most challenging, humbling, stressful, and deeply rewarding experiences of my life. Make no mistake: these chefs SHOWED UP and brought their best. It’s an experience I’ll absolutely carry with me for a very, very long time,” Button said via the Facebook post.

As News 13 previously reported, Button has an extensive list of accomplishments, from being featured on a Discovery+ series called ‘From the Source’ to being invited to the White House to prepare a meal for the Australian Prime Minister, former President Joe Biden, and Former First Lady Jill Biden.
