Crystal Palace are close to reaching a verbal agreement to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Palace want to strengthen their attack before the winter transfer window shuts and Strand Larsen has emerged as their top target.
A price of £45million plus £5m in add-ons is being discussed, with agent Jorge Mendes handling negotiations on behalf of Wolves.
Although a deal is yet to be struck and the Molineux club have not received an official bid from Palace, talks are advanced regarding the fee and personal terms for striker Strand Larsen.
His existing contract runs until June 2030, plus an option to extend by a further 12 months.
Leeds United have seen multiple offers, reaching £40m, rejected and maintain their pursuit of a player who — alongside his Leeds-supporting agent — has been keen on a switch to Elland Road.
However, they do not intend to go higher at present. That has enabled Palace to manoeuvre into pole position for the 25-year-old Norway attacker.
Strand Larsen marked his first Premier League season by recording an impressive 14 goals and five assists across 38 appearances in 2024-25.
Six goals and two assists have followed in a campaign that saw him troubled by injury, while Wolves are struggling and currently sit bottom of the table.
Strand Larsen was subject to bigger proposals from Newcastle United last summer, which were all turned down, and there is strong admiration from other English clubs and counterparts in Italy, Spain and Saudi Arabia.
Should he arrive at Selhurst Park it could pave the way for Jean-Philippe Mateta to depart.
Palace are seeking a package worth around £40m for the 28-year-old France international, whose terms expire in June 2027. Nottingham Forest have offered £35m, while AC Milan are also keen and Juventus explored the situation earlier in the market.
