Rose Byrne named Hasty Pudding’s 2026 Woman of the Year

The accolades keep coming for Rose Byrne.

The actress, who recently earned an Oscar nomination and won a Golden Globe this year for her role in “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” has been named Hasty Pudding’s 2026 Woman of the Year, the Harvard theatrical organization announced on Wednesday. Byrne will ship up to the Boston area on Friday, Feb. 13, taking part in the annual parade through Harvard Square, as well as the roast and press conference at Farkas Hall. Byrne will also attend a performance of the 177th Hasty Pudding Theatricals production, “Salooney Tunes.”

“We are thrilled to honor Rose Byrne as our Woman of the Year,” Hasty Pudding Theatricals president Daisy Nussbaum said in a press release statement. “Hot off a Golden Globe win and an Oscar nomination, it’s only right that she receives the most prestigious award of all: a pudding pot.”

Get Starting Point

The Woman of the Year festivities were originally scheduled to take place Friday, Jan. 30, but Hasty Pudding Theatricals revealed earlier this week that it needed to reschedule the event due to the recent snow storm and continuing cold temperatures. “Batman” and “Spotlight” actor Michael Keaton was previously announced as the 2026 Man of the Year, and will take part in his own ceremony and roast on Friday, Feb. 6.

Byrne is the latest big name to take home Hasty Pudding’s Woman of the Year honor, with last year’s festivities celebrating “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo. Other recent Woman of the Year recipients include Viola Davis and Jennifer Garner, as well as Massachusetts natives Elizabeth Banks and Jennifer Coolidge.

“Rose may have been a bridesmaid, but now it’s her turn to walk down the aisle … or should we say, parade through Harvard Square?” producer Cate Schwarz said in a press release statement. “After fighting demons and zombies, we’re sure Rose is well prepared to earn her pudding pot.”
