ESPN’s Schefter and Fowler Contradict a Little with Latest Buzz on Kubiak, Raiders

Klint Kubiak will interview with the Raiders and Cardinals on Saturday the expectation of most is that he is going to end up choosing the Raiders.
On Friday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler offered an update on Kubiak’s weekend interview tour, and he confirmed that most believe Kubiak will choose the Raiders’ job over the Cardinals if both are offered to him.
“My sense in league circles talking to people is that he would prefer the Raiders job over the Cardinals if he does go that route,” Fowler said. “It is not a slam dunk he leaves Seattle.”
“He’s been with multiple teams. He’s been with multiple teams over the years. Just moved his family to the Northwest. So it would take the right kind of situation for him to leave,” Fowler continued. “But it is believed that the target for Las Vegas and that no. 1 pick with Fernando Mendoza, would be Kubiak.”
Without question, Fowler is one of the most trustworthy insiders in the league, but his message that Kubiak could potentially return to the Seahawks in 2026 seemed to contradict what his counterpart Adam Schefter said earlier in the day.
“He’s going to get the Raiders or the Cardinals job,” Schefter said on the Pat McAfee Show.
McAfee followed up by asking Schefter if Kubiak was definitely getting one of those jobs and Schefter doubled down.
“He’s definitely getting one of those jobs.”
