Elena Rybakina has climbed to the top of the WTA ranks thanks to some serious success in the 2020s — a Wimbledon win in 2022 and a couple of Australian Open finals in 2023 and 2026.

You may have heard or read about a relationship with her coach, Stefano Vukov. The Athletic has an extensive report on an investigation into Vukov’s behavior as her coach that led to a suspension, with “Rybakina [telling] multiple sources in attendance at her recent events that her relationship with him had become personal and romantic.”

Rybakina announced before last year’s US Open that Vukov would no longer be her coach but then said before the Australian Open that he would be rejoining her team. She insisted that he had never mistreated her during their time working together.
