Riley Keough talks about carrying on Elvis Presley’s legacy
Riley Keough, actress and daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, speaks about how she and her family carry on her grandfather Elvis Presley’s legacy.
Lisa Marie Presley was born 58 years ago this Sunday, Feb. 1.
The Memphis-born daughter and only child of the so-called King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley, died Jan. 12, 2023, in Los Angeles, at the age of 54. She was young, but she outlived her father by 12 years: Elvis was 42 when he died on Aug. 16, 1977.
In recognition of Lisa Marie’s natal day (which follows her father’s Jan. 8 birthday by less than a month), members of the Lisa Marie Presley Fan Club plan have planned a public “Birthday Vigil” for 7 p.m. Feb. 1, on the sidewalk outside Graceland.
Reaching a larger audience, Priscilla Presley also paid homage to Lisa Marie, posting a photo of the two on Instagram. In the photo, the mother and daughter are seated together, with Priscilla behind Lisa Marie, her arms wrapped around her daughter and their faces touching.
The post simply stated: “Happy Heavenly Birthday.”
Also, the official Graceland Instagram account featured a post Feb. 1 in honor of Lisa Marie:
“Today we honor and celebrate Lisa Marie Presley on her birthday. Forever loved and always a part of Graceland’s story. Happy Birthday, Lisa Marie Presley.”
