Benson has flipped his last Boone.

The Grammy-nominated singer, Benson Boone, walked the red carpet at the 68th Grammy Awards this year. Benson wore a crushed velvet black suit and pants with a semi-sheer grey button-up underneath. The suit jacket had a sparkly silver lining.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling told the Mirror US that Benson was responding to a photographer asking the star to do his signature backflip. ”I wish I could flip they’re fly zip and I’ll split them,” Nicola claimed the star said as he gripped his crotch and adjusted himself.

Benson added the six-word clapback, “Hell no, it’s my day off.”

The star isn’t nominated for any Grammy Awards this year, but he was nominated last year for Best New Artist. He went up against artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Khruangbin, Raye, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims, but the award ultimately went to Chappell Roan.

Benson also performed last year and came very close to having a wardrobe malfunction. He donned a light blue jumpsuit with a plunging V-neckline and channeled Elvis Presley.

He performed his hit song Beautiful Things and, of course, did a backflip off the piano onto the stage. But things almost took a turn for the worse when he was adjusting his trousers, seeming to mouth, “oh, oh, oh!” before regaining his composure and continuing the show with zero problems.

After the performance, Benson spoke about his “aggressive” fixing of his crotch on stage and admitted on his Instagram Story that his outfit was “extremely restricting” in “certain areas.”

Alongside a shirtless selfie, the singer wrote on the social media app, “Sorry for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight that thing was extremely restricting in certain areas.”
