Lightning’s Anthony Cirelli exits Stadium Series with undisclosed injury

The Tampa Bay Lightning will look to complete the comeback against the Boston Bruins in the Stadium Series without their top centreman.

Already without Brayden Point, Anthony Cirelli suffered an undisclosed injury and will not return, the team announced prior to the third period on Sunday.

Cirelli also missed the second period after he was the recipient of a Mark Kastelic open-ice hit at centre ice with under two minutes left in the opening frame. The Lightning forward was visibly shaken up and in discomfort on the bench following the collision.

The 28-year-old Cirelli has enjoyed a solid season with Tampa, posting 15 goals, 20 assists and is +29 in 48 games.

His play earned him a spot on Team Canada at the Olympics, which plays its first match on Feb. 12 against Czechia.
