Why Bad Bunny Can’t Perform at Grammys 2026

Bad Bunny is kicking off Super Bowl week with some vocal rest.
One week before headlining the 2026 halftime show, the Un Verano Sin Ti singer attended the 2026 Grammys, but, despite being nominated for six awards at the event, he confirmed to host Trevor Noah that he wouldn’t be performing on music’s biggest night.
“Whoever’s doing the Super Bowl is contractually obligated to only do the Super Bowl,” Trevor said to Bad Bunny at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles Feb. 1, “so, you can’t perform at the Grammys. Is this true?”
“I wish,” Bad Bunny responded. “but I can’t.”
And when Trevor told the “Monaco” singer that he had expected to see him perform, Bad Bunny said, “Me too!”
In fact, the 31-year-old—who is nominated for six total Grammys this year, including Album, Record and Song of the Year—said, “I came here [and] I thought I was performing, but now I can’t.”
While Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) may not be making much noise from stage during the Grammys, he has certainly been outspoken about what led to him making his album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
“I had the desire for a long time to try to make a salsa album,” he told i-D in a September interview. “But I always thought about it for the future—like, ‘maybe when I’m 40.’ But why wait so long?”
