Bad Bunny Says ‘ICE Out’ During Grammys Acceptance Speech

While accepting the award for best música urbana album with “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” at the 2026 Grammy Awards, Bad Bunny made a pointed declaration: “ICE out” and “we’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens.”
In his acceptance speech, the Puerto Rican musician got right to the point. “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out. We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans. Also, I will say to people, I know it’s tough to know not to hate on these days and I was thinking sometimes, we get contaminados [contaminated], I don’t know how to say that in English. The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it. With love. Don’t forget that please. Thank you.”

Bad Bunny has been notably outspoken about ICE, stating previously that he purposely avoided booking shows in the United States on tour for fear of ICE raids. He’s been at the center of controversy after he was announced as headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show, eliciting criticism from President Donald Trump and the Republican base.
In October, Trump said that it’s “absolutely ridiculous” that Bad Bunny is performing at the event, even though Trump also admitted that he’s “never heard” of the global music star. “I don’t know who he is… I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment — I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
