Search for missing woman in Catalina Foothills area

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says a woman missing from the Catalina Foothills area is the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was ;last seen at her home about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, January 31, near Skyline and Campbell about 9:30 Saturday night.

Sheriff Nanos says a family member called 911 Sunday, February 1, about noon to report the missing woman.

Sheriff Nanos said there were concerning circumstances found at the home and that homicide detectives are also investigating.

Sheriff Nanos would not rule out foul play, but said this is being treated as a search and rescue and the search mission is being done by air and by ground.

Guthrie is described as 5’5” and 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
