Some public schools in Nova Scotia are closed for the third Monday in a row as another winter storm crosses the province.

Cape Breton and parts of eastern and northern mainland Nova Scotia are under either snowfall or winter storm warnings.

Classes at all schools in the Chignecto Central, Strait and Cape Breton-Victoria regional centres for education are cancelled. About two dozen schools are closed in the Halifax region, while others in the district are delayed in opening by two hours. Schools in West Hants are closed.

Public transit in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality is not operating for at least the morning, and municipal buildings and recreational facilities are closed.

A number of universities in the province have either delayed opening or cancelled daytime classes.
