Andrei Vasilevskiy and Jeremy Swayman have goalie fight during Stadium Series outdoor game

A goalie fight broke out for the first time in NHL outdoor game history.
Tempers flared between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning during the second period of their Stadium Series matchup at Raymond James Stadium, Sunday.
After Brandon Hagel poked at a covered puck, Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman snapped, punching Lightning forward in the face and tackling him to the ice as a scrum erupted.
At the other end, Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy saw what was happening and immediately took off down the ice. The two angry, heavily padded men then met at the blue line… and Ding! Ding!
Here. We. Go.
First, as a courtesy, both goalies removed their goalie masks as they glided into center ice. They are gentlemen after all.
Then, Vasilevskiy got down to business, nailing Swayman with multiple lefts before wrestling him down to the ice.
The bout happened with 8:59 remaining in the second period with the Bruins leading 5-2.
David Pastrnak, who was mic’d up during the game, began screaming, “Oh yeah! Oh yeah, baby!” from the bench as the the fight occurred.
The Vasilevskiy-Swayman bout marked the second NHL goalie fight in two weeks after Sergei Bobrovsky and Alex Nedeljkovic dropped the gloves during a Panthers-Sharks game on January 19. The hands-throwing that night ended a nearly six-year NHL drought without a goalie fight.
The previous one occurred on February 1, 2020, when Calgary Flames goalie Cam Talbot fought Edmonton Oilers goalie Mike Smith during a “Battle of Alberta” game.
If this is the new normal in the NHL, I love it.
