How Tim Malone and Don Lemon met
Lemon and Malone met in 2015 at Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton, New York, but began dating the following year. The relationship became public in 2017. Lemon later referenced their early days during CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live, saying he had found “love on a two-way street,” People reported.
Malone’s background and early career
Malone was born on April 6, 1984, in Water Mill, New York. He attended Southampton High School and later graduated from Boston College in 2006 with a degree in history and journalism, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He began his career at NBCUniversal through the Page Program, working as a production assistant on Today. Malone later moved into sales roles across NBC networks, including USA and Syfy, before transitioning into marketing at Billboard and later working as an executive at Jukin Media.

After more than a decade in media and advertising, Malone shifted careers in 2018 and joined the Corcoran Group as a real estate agent. He later worked at Douglas Elliman and now serves as a broker with Compass, where he leads The Malone Team. Malone focuses on luxury properties in New York City and the Hamptons and has handled several high-value sales, including Lemon’s former Harlem condominium, People reported.
Engagement and marriage
Malone proposed to Lemon in April 2019. The couple married on April 6, 2024, at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City in a ceremony attended by about 140 guests. The wedding was officiated by then-US ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
