Zendaya and Robert Pattinson learn the consequences of sharing too much information in the full trailer for A24 movie The Drama.
The studio releases writer-director Kristoffer Borgli’s film in theaters April 3. Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim and Hailey Gates round out the cast.
The Drama centers on Emma Harwood (Zendaya), who works at a publishing house, and British museum director Charlie Thompson (Pattinson). The happily engaged couple’s relationship is pushed to the brink after an unexpected revelation amid their wedding week.
In the trailer, the pair play a game with friends, leading Zendaya to reveal a surprising moment from her past. “You have to stop thinking about it,” she later encourages a rattled Pattinson. This spurs him to respond, “How do you say, ‘Stop thinking’?”
Borgli (Dream Scenario) helmed the film from his own script. Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen and Tyler Campellone serve as producers.
Zendaya can soon be seen on the forthcoming third season of HBO’s Euphoria and in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which hits theaters this summer. She will also be part of the voice cast for Shrek 5.
Pattinson was recently seen in last year’s Die My Love and is set to appear in the forthcoming movies The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three. He will also star opposite Denzel Washington in Netflix’s Here Comes the Flood.
A24 released Borgli’s Dream Scenario theatrically in November 2023, and the film picked up a Golden Globe nomination for star Nicolas Cage. The dark comedy also featured Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera and Tim Meadows.
