The Hawkeyes (18-4, 9-2 Big Ten Conference) suffered an 81-69 loss at USC on Jan. 29 and an 88-65 loss at No. 2 UCLA on Feb. 1. It was the first time under head coach Jan Jensen that Iowa surrendered 80-plus points in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Minnesota (16-6, 7-4) is trending toward its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018. The Golden Gophers have won six of eight but haven’t had a victory in Iowa City since 2007.
