Cam Davis’s dramatic eagle on TPC Scottsdale’s 17th hole at WM Phoenix Open

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The 17th hole at TPC Scottsdale is thought of as one of the best driveable par 4s on the PGA Tour. For the 2026 WM Phoenix Open, the 332-yard hole is key to the outcome.
For guys leading, they’ll probably hit short of the green, chip on and hope to make their birdie putt. For guys chasing, it’s go time, as they’ll try to drive the green to set up an eagle look.
There have been many a Sunday when a wayward tee shot on the hole extinguished someone’s dreams.
On Friday, it was go time for Cam Davis. Sitting at even par, which might not have been good enough to make the weekend, Davis pounded his tee shot down the middle. When it landed, it took a big bounce forward towards the cup and rolled to a stop about four feet away.
He would make the eagle putt to get to 2 under. Couple that with a par at the last and Davis can probably breathe a bit easier with the Friday evening cut line still to come.
