He shared on X, “Inspected & discussed the final-minute preparations of Team India, and, also reviewed the hosting arrangements for the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup,2026, starting today at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.”

The T20 World Cup kicked off on February 7 and will run until March 8, with 20 teams playing 55 matches across India and Sri Lanka. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, are set to begin their campaign against the United States at Wankhede. They will then play Namibia in Delhi on February 12, followed by a scheduled clash against Pakistan on February 15 in Colombo, though that match is uncertain due to Pakistan’s boycott announcement. India’s final group match will be against the Netherlands in Ahmedabad on February 18.Earlier, ICC chairman Jay Shah wished all teams the best for the tournament, highlighting how competitive the event has been over the years. He said, “Six different champions already in nine editions of the @ICC Men’s @T20WorldCup. Wishing the teams the very best of luck as they battle for the crown over 55 exciting matches in India and Sri Lanka!”The opening match of the tournament featured Pakistan and the Netherlands in Colombo, while India started their campaign on the same day in Mumbai, marking the beginning of another high-stakes global cricket event for fans.
