Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime? Not likely for Trump, says White House
The White House expects President Donald Trump’s Super Bowl party to skip the Bad Bunny halftime show, said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

To compete with Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, Turning Point USA will be putting on the “All-American Halftime Show.”
The show, announced in October, will feature performances by Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett. Kid Rock is a close ally of President Trump and, in recent years, has become outspoken in his conservative beliefs.
“We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath,” Kid Rock said in a news release announcing the lineup. “Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible … or is it?”
Kid Rock also took jabs at the Puerto Rican superstar.
“He’s said he’s having a dance party, wearing a dress, and singing in Spanish? Cool,” he said. “We plan to play great songs for folks who love America.”
Bad Bunny recently won album of the year at the 2026 Grammys for “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.” It’s the first time an all Spanish-language album has taken home the top prize.

Here’s the lineup for Turning Point’s alternative halftime show:
- Kid Rock, originally established himself in the Detroit hip-hop scene, broke through into mainstream success with a rap rock sound before moving to country rock. His best-selling singles include “Picture” and “All Summer Long.”
- Brantley Gilbert, who has hits like “Dirt Road Anthem” and “Bottoms Up.”
- Lee Brice, known for tracks like “One of Them Girls” and “Rumor.”
- Gabby Barrett, the 2021 winner of new female artist of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Gilbert and Brice are mid-level stars in the country music scene and Barrett is the only female performer announced so far.
