Flipping for Fun: Can a coin pick Super Bowl winners better than I can?

Well, well, well. Look at what we have here.

It appears my years of doing coin flipping content here at TSN Betting have finally paid off.

In 2023, I flipped a coin for 32 NFL primetime / playoff games, the coin went 15-15-2.

Last season I shifted to NHL moneylines which saw the coin struggle going 24-38.

This year, I gave the coin a rest. But just when I thought I was out of the coin game, FanDuel pulled me back.

While it seems like most of TSN has made their pick for this year’s coin toss, I remain undecided.

Until my model lands on a pick for the toss, I’m here to compete against a coin one last time.

Here are five props I have played for Super Bowl LX. Let’s see what the coin has to say about my picks.

Total Length of last Brave note held in national anthem – Over 4.5 seconds -110

I used to watch Charlie Puth make parody videos on YouTube. To say he’s come a long way from those days to singing the national anthem would be an understatement.

In a recent interview, Puth said this is an opportunity for him to show people he’s a better vocalist than they think he is.

There’s one simple way to prove that.

I’ll take over 4.5 seconds for him to hold the last braaaaaaaaaaaaaave longer than he normally would.

Coin: Heads = Over 4.5 seconds

Will a Player or coach cry during the National Anthem – Yes -110

Men crying is cool.

You remember Knowshon Moreno before that one AFC Championship Game. It was awesome.

It’s the biggest game of their lives. Someone, anyone, Mike Vrabel, feel the moment and let your emotions move you to tears.

Whoever cries first will win, in my opinion.

Coin: Tails = No

AJ Barner over 0.5 rushing yards

I wrote about this yesterday, but Seattle uses Barner for their version of a Tush Push and I don’t care if it’s plus money I think he’s getting a yard.

Coin: Tails = Under 0.5 rushing yards

Drake Maye longest completion Over 32.5 yards

If the Patriots are going to keep this game close they’re going to need Maye to make some big plays and connect on deep balls.

Look for Maye to target a guy like Kayshon Boutte or Kyle Williams if either of them are left alone on a third and long.

Coin: Heads = Over 32.5 yards

Total Canadian Viewership Under 19.5 million

As someone who works at TSN I play this Under every year and hope I lose.

If less than 19.5 million people watch the game, I win my bet. If more than 19.5 million people watch, it’s better for the company’s bottom line.

I truly can’t lose.

But the coin has no attachment to Bell Media or the audience of Canada.

Call that Tate McCoin.
