How many Penn State players are in Super Bowl LX?

Penn State is guaranteed to have a Super Bowl champion this year
Penn State may not be the most-represented school in this year’s Super Bowl, but a former Nittany Lion is guaranteed to be calling himself a Super Bowl champion after today. Each team in this year’s big game, the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots have one former Penn State player on the roster, assuring a Penn State letterman will own a Super Bowl ring for the 45th time in the Super Bowl’s 60-year history.
Penn State will be represented on the AFC champion Patriots roster by offensive lineman Caedan Wallace. Wallace was a third-round draft pick of the Patriots in the 2024 NFL draft, going 68th overall. The New Jersey native played for Penn State from 2019 through the 2023 season, and he overcame injuries that shortened his 2022 season. Wallace was an honorable All-Big Ten player in 2023 as a starter for the Nittany Lions.
Wallace is a second-string right guard for the Patriots, playing behind starter Mike Onwenu. Wallace appeare din four games this season, all in the month of December, as the Patriots were making a push for an AFC East title and a top seed in the AFC playoff bracket.
On the other sideline, the Seahawks will have a former Nittany Lion playing a key, but often overlooked, role on special teams. Long-snapper Chris Stoll is a crucial member of the Seahawks’ special teams unit. Stoll, a former Penn State team captain and Patrick Mannelly Award winner as the nation’s best long snapper, was picked up by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He quickly made the team’s 53-man roster and he has been a fixture on special teams since his arrival in Seattle with 51 career appearances (playing all 17 regular-season games each year from 2023 through 2025).
To date, including this year’s Super Bowl, a Penn State player has played in the NFL’s marquee championship event in 55 of 60 seasons, and a Super Bowl champion has included at least one Penn State player 44 times, including this season. The running count for Super Bowl rings owned by Penn State players is now up to 69 among 51 players.
If you were curious, Alabama will be the most-represented school in this year’s Super Bowl with a total of seven players in the big game.
The Super Bowl kicks off from Levi Stadium in San Francisco, CA, on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. ET, airing on NBC.
