The Adventures of Cliff Booth is coming soon to Netflix
Brad Pitt is reprising the role that won him an Oscar for a followup to 2019’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
Netflix released the surprise first teaser trailer for The Adventures of Cliff Booth during Super Bowl LX on Sunday, Feb. 8. The official teaser has not been released online yet.
The movie sees Pitt, 62, step back into the shoes of the title character, who appeared in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood as a stunt performer for Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton in the Quentin Tarantino film.
The new movie is directed by David Fincher (The Social Network, Gone Girl) from a script Tarantino, 62, seemingly wrote as a spinoff from Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
The movie sees Pitt reunite with Fincher, 63, for the first time since they made their 2008 movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The pair also worked together on Se7en and Fight Club.
Reports that Pitt and Fincher were teaming up for the project first emerged in April 2025, and Pitt was photographed sporting a long blond wig and matching mustache, along with a yellow shirt with flowers and jeans on the set in July.
Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood followed Pitt’s character Booth and DiCaprio’s Dalton as they struggled to adjust to changing times in Hollywood in 1969.
The movie imagined an alternative history in which the characters inadvertently prevent Sharon Tate’s murder by members of the Manson family. Pitt won Best Supporting Actor at the 2020 Oscars for his performance in the movie, which also won Best Production Design.
Deadline first noted in an April article that The Adventures of Cliff Booth follows Pitt’s character as “a Hollywood studio fixer” some time after the events of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
The outlet also reported on July 28 that the movie’s cast features Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, JB Taken and Corey Fogelmanis.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth is coming soon to Netflix.
