Follow live: Boston College vs. Boston U. in the Beanpot championship

No. 14 Boston College and Boston University face off tonight at TD Garden with the Beanpot title on the line. It’s the second year in a row where the Eagles and Terriers meet in the Beanpot title game, with the Terriers winning in 2025 before going on a run to the Frozen Four championship.

This year’s Beanpot championship features some special history: it’s the 300th edition of the Battle of Commonwealth Ave., the 108-year rivalry between BC and BU. The Terriers hold a slim advantage in the series with a 141-137-1 record.

The goal tonight is the same as it was for the first 299 meetings.

The two teams have met 48 times before in the Beanpot, with BU holding a 31-17 record, and they’ve met in the Beanpot final 23 times before, with BU winning 13 of the championship matchups and BC winning 10.

The Eagles bested the Terriers in their first meeting of the season on Jan. 30, a 4-1 road win at Agganis Arena. The Terriers look to win their second Beanpot title in a row, while the Eagles will try to capture their first since 2016.
