Winter Olympics 2026 live updates: Latest from Day 4 of the Games as Mikaela Shiffrin misses out on medal again

And Rei Halloran, Japan’s goaltender who plays for Järnbrotts HK in the NDHL (W) of Sweden, shared her perspective on the game and her Olympic experience overall.
💬 “It’s been an unforgettable experience. I didn’t expect to play at all so it has exceeded my expectations. I’m super grateful and so proud everyone came to support us.
“In Italy, there’s maybe not the biggest fanbase for Japan so seeing all the fans come out and watch was amazing. We won our first game, but we were surprised by the physicality, the speed.
“It is a little bit hard when our girls play locally (in Japan) where there’s no hitting, no contact. That’s a huge difference. I’ve played in the US, and that physicality aspect isn’t too surprising for me.
“It is a big jump to go from nothing to a lot of hitting. We knew we had to give everything for this game if we wanted any opportunity to play in the next round. Everybody gave their all, but it wasn’t enough.”
