ITV Studios closes Love Island and Game Of Chefs deal with RTL Croatia

ITV Studios has closed a new deal with RTL Croatia for two major unscripted formats, Love Island and Game of Chefs, further expanding the global footprint of both brands.

The agreement marks Croatia as the 28th territory to commission Love Island. Game of Chefs will launch in Croatia in Spring 2026 as its seventh international adaptation.

Tom Clark, EVP Global Sales & Commercial Strategy at ITV Studios, said: “This deal with RTL Croatia underlines the continued momentum behind Love Island as one of the world’s most powerful reality brands, alongside the distinctive appeal of Game of Chefs. Both formats deliver premium entertainment with real audience impact, and Croatia is an exciting new market for them. We’re looking forward to working closely with RTL Croatia to bring two bold, high-energy shows to viewers in 2026.”

Tonko Weissmann, EVP of RTL Croatia said: “RTL Croatia continues its commitment to bringing premium international content to local audiences. The acquisition of these formats marks a significant milestone in our strategy to strengthen our linear channels and Voyo streaming platform.”

Love Island continues to be one of the world’s most successful reality formats. The current UK series, Love Island: All Stars series 3, has already amassed 53 million streams on ITVX and over one billion social media impressions at its midway point, following a launch that stands as ITV’s biggest 16–34 programme of the year. In the US, season 7 of Love Island USA became Peacock’s most-watched original season ever, generating 18.4 billion minutes streamed and ranking as the #1 streaming original in the week of its finale. In the UK, series 12 delivered its biggest final in three years with 2.4 million viewers, while total streams reached 173 million, up 8% year-on-year.

Love Island follows a group of single ‘Islanders’ as they couple up, recouple and face eliminations in a sun-soaked villa, all while competing for romance and the approval of the public.

Game of Chefs raises the stakes in the kitchen as three top chefs each build a team of amateur cooks through blind-tasting auditions, famously delivered via an iconic conveyor belt. The competition intensifies through bootcamp and battle rounds, blending the high pressure of a talent show with a premium culinary format.

Love Island is a Lifted Entertainment, part of ITV Studios, and Motion Entertainment, a WPP Media company, format.
ITV Studios handles international distribution of both Love Island and Game of Chefs.

The deals were brokered by Martijn Plaizier, Format Licensing Manager, Global Partnerships, ITV Studios.
