Lake effect snow warning for Onondaga County until Thursday afternoon

On Wednesday at 8:13 p.m. the National Weather Service released a lake effect snow warning in effect until Thursday at 1 p.m. for Onondaga County.

The weather service adds to expect, “Heavy lake effect snow. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches in localized lake effect snow bands.”

“Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute,” explains the weather service. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.”
