Mike McCoy, former Titans interim coach, to join Raiders staff, per report

Per a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Las Vegas Raiders will hire former Tennessee Titans interim coach Mike McCoy as an assistant head coach on Klint Kubiak’s inaugural staff.

McCoy, the former coach of the San Diego Chargers, led the Titans to a 2-9 record across 11 games as interim coach in 2025 after the dismissal of Brian Callahan.

McCoy later interviewed for the Titans’ head coaching vacancy but did not advance to the finalist stage. Callahan initially hired McCoy as a senior offensive assistant for 2025 before he was promoted to the interim role.

Kubiak and McCoy have no prior experience working together, though the two both spent significant amounts of time in Denver. Kubiak’s father, Gary, worked in Denver from 1995-05 and in 2015-16. McCoy worked in Denver from 2009-12 and again in 2017. Kubiak was in Denver from 2016-18 and returned as passing game coordinator for the 2022 season.

The Raiders hired Kubiak as their coach after he led the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl championship as offensive coordinator. Kubiak replaces Pete Carroll, who was a one-and-done coach in Vegas after his own championship-winning run as coach in Seattle.

McCoy isn’t the only member of the Titans’ 2025 coaching staff who’s found work elsewhere this offseason. Callahan has reportedly joined on with the New York Giants as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator alongside defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson. Quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree is headed to Buffalo after two years in Nashville.
