John Cartwright has named his 21-man squad ahead of Saturday’s Betfred Super League Round 1 clash against Bradford Bulls, in association with Steve Hodgins Plumbing, Heating & Electrical.
The Airlie Birds kick-off their season against the newly-promoted side in West Hull on Saturday evening (5.30pm), with FC’s biggest non-derby crowd in a decade watching on from the stands as excitement for the new season reaches fever pitch.
New recruits Jake Arthur, Harvie Hill, Joe Batchelor, Sam Lisone, Arthur Romano and Connor Bailey are all named and could make their league debuts for the club.
After missing out in the Black & Whites’ first competitive action of the season against Salford last week due to minor issues, Will Pryce (hamstring), Lewis Martin (hip), and Liam Knight (head) are all named and set to feature.
Herman Ese’ese remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from an Achilles injury suffered towards the end of the 2025 campaign, while the game also comes too soon for fellow forwards John Asiata (hamstring) and James Bell (knee), who are expected to return to action in the coming weeks.
Jed Cartwright is unavailable for selection having failed a head injury assessment during last week’s fixture in Greater Manchester, while young squad members Logan Moy (calf), Joe Phillips (leg), Ryan Westerman (foot), and Roman Dawson (knee) continue their respective recoveries.
Very limited tickets remain available for our season opener remain available online at eticketing.co.uk/hullfc, with 2026 members able to make the most of our ‘Members Double’ ticket offer until 4.00pm on Friday 13th February.
