Winter Olympics 2026, men’s team curling: Canada falls to perfect Swiss; Sweden clocks first win

Winter Olympics 2026: Sweden, Great Britain and Team USA log wins
Reigning Olympic champions Sweden managed their first win of the round robin, taking out a 6-4 win over the People’s Republic of China.
Up 4-3 in the eighth end, Swedish skip Niklas Edin extended their advantage with a draw for two in the ninth, and then played a defensive end to hold the Chinese for one in the 10th.
The win improves the Swedes to a 1-3 record, with five games left to play in the 10-team event.
Elsewhere, Great Britain recovered from their loss to Italy with a 7-4 victory over a, so far, winless Czechia.
“[We’re] delighted to get back in the winning column,” Beijing 2022 silver medallist Bobby Lammie said to Olympics.com afterwards.
“Lukáš [Klíma] made so many good runbacks and good shots. I thought we were pushing away, and he would make a really good one and keep them in it,” he continued.
“It was a pretty solid performance, and we’ll try and grow on that for the rest of the week.”
The United States, meanwhile, overcame a spirited comeback from Germany to clinch its second win of the tournament.
Danny Casper and his men got off to a dream four-point start, but the Germans hung on to their coattails, stealing single points in the third and sixth ends, before adding a deuce in the eighth to close the gap to 7-6.
Team USA re-established a two-point buffer with a single after Casper successfully managed to clear the German rocks inside the four-foot out of the house, and leave his stone lying shot.
In the 10th, the U.S. then ran Marc Muskatewitz out of stones to clinch the win and join the Germans on a 2-2 win-loss record.
The men’s curling action continues on Sunday with a morning and evening session. Find the full schedule and timings below.
