Winter Olympics 2026: How to watch day 9 live – full schedule and medal events on Sunday 15 February

Mikaela Shiffrin resumes her bid for a first Olympic medal in eight years when racing in the women’s giant slalom at Milano Cortina 2026 on Sunday.

The Alpine skiing superstar narrowly missed out on the podium in the women’s team combined event this week, and now hopes to win gold in an event she won at PyeongChang 2018.

Challenging the double Olympic champion will be Julia Scheib, the Austrian who tops the World Cup giant slalom standings after four wins and two second-place finishes this season.

Camille Rast, Sara Hector and Alice Robinson have all topped the World Cup podium too, making this giant slalom race too close to call, with home hope Sofia Goggia also eyeing a fourth Olympic medal.

Elsewhere, Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam will go for a second gold after setting an Olympic record to win the 1000m, with teammate and three-time reigning world champion Femke Kok among her competition in the 500m.

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo also chases outright Olympic history on Sunday in the cross-country skiing men’s 4 x 7.5km relay.

The Norwegian tied the all-time record of eight Winter Olympic golds on Friday, and he could stand alone on nine – surpassing three of his compatriots – if he tops the podium in an event Norway comfortably won at last year’s worlds.
