The Butler Bulldogs look to snap a five-game skid as they host the Seton Hall Pirates in Big East play tonight.

Points may be at a premium as Seton Hall’s offense is in a rut, whereas a shorthanded Bulldogs squad may struggle to generate offense against a tough Pirates defense.

Seton Hall vs Butler prediction

Seton Hall vs Butler best bet: Under 141.5 (-116)

Butler Bulldogs guard Finley Bizjack leads his team with 17.4 ppg and a +3.92 OBPY, but he’s considered questionable for today’s contest due to a wrist injury.

He exploded for 25 points in the first matchup — a Bulldogs victory on the road — so if he’s absent, or at less than 100%, that’s bad news against a Seton Hall Pirates defense ranked Top 15 in adjusted efficiency.

Guards Azavier Robinson and Jalen Jackson are also out due to injury, and the Bulldogs have slowed the pace as a result (259th in adjusted tempo in the last month, per BartTorvik).

Seton Hall vs Butler same-game parlay

Seton Hall can take advantage of a matchup against a reeling Butler team that hasn’t won a game in nearly a month and has injuries to several key players. A cover would likely involve a big game from star guard Adam Clark.

He’s been on fire, averaging 22.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in his last five games, and should find room against a bad Butler defense that ranks 301st in assists allowed per game. They’re soft on the interior (203rd in near-proximity field goal defense, per Haslametrics), opening looks for big man Stephon Payne III.
