Halsey Goes Gothic in Black Lace

Halsey‘s sensual style moment took the trend to new heights at the Los Angeles premiere of “56 Days” on Wednesday night.
The actor and singer wore a black dress with a bevy of nods to lingerie-inspired dressing with a Gothic bent. The halter dress look included contrasting fabric, with lacy black elements set against a semi-sheer material. Lace patterning on the dress included botanical inspiration, with florals and foliage throughout.

A cutout was placed just beneath the bustline of the “Bad at Love” singer’s dress, with silky satin fabric framing the base of the cutout. A drop-waist cut further defined the fabric contrast between the black sheer lace and the flowing satiny material. The skirt of the dress flowed into a small train, which trailed Halsey on the red carpet.
The back of Halsey’s dress revealed a plunging element, elevating the sensual styling theme further. As for glam, Halsey’s hair was styled in a vibrant, deep red tone, with a coordinated lip that augmented the pop of color. Lined brows and eyes also opened the singer’s look further. Halsey often collaborates with stylist Lyn Alyson.

Halsey’s look at the “56 Days” premiere certainly added to the growing list of celebrities who’ve embraced sensual styling and lingerie-coded looks for red carpet events. In fact, “56 Days” star Dove Cameron gave her soft feminine look some sensual styling touches with a sleek, form-fitting dress and sweetheart neckline.
Other stars who recently evoked the trend include Ciara, who wore a custom Valdrin Sahiti dress with a black lace bustier design to the NFL Honors on Feb. 5, and Charli XCX, who repurposed her blue corset from the 2025 Grammy Awards and a black leathery McQueen bra from her 2025 wedding, at “The Moment” premiere in January.
