Port Vale will host Sunderland in FA Cup first round IF they beat Bristol City

It’s a pretty big “if” considering the team’s form but should Port Vale defeat Bristol City in the FA Cup fourth round then they would host Premier League side Sunderland.

The two sides last played in the FA Cup back in 2018 when it finished Port Vale 1-2 Sunderland.  Tom Pope scored Vale’s goal in front of a crowd of 7,238. The two sides have also met in the cup on five previous occasions.

The rearranged Bristol City fixture will now take place at Vale Park on Tuesday 3rd March 2026 at 7:45pm. The fifth round will take place just four days later.
