Players to watch on the Swiss team
Ahead of today’s semifinal between Canada and Switzerland, here are a couple of Swiss players to watch:
Alina Müller, forward: Müller was a teenager when she won Olympic bronze in 2014. Now, she’s the most important player on this Swiss team. She leads the team with four points in five games, including the game winner over Finland in the quarterfinals. She plays for the Boston Fleet in the PWHL.
Lara Stalder, forward: Team captain Stalder is another holdover from the 2014 bronze-medal team. The Swiss rely on Stalder both on the ice and off.
Andrea Brändli, goaltender: Brändli shut out Finland in the quarterfinals. She’s having a great season in the Swedish Women’s Hockey League and is one of the best goaltenders not playing in the PWHL.
