The M4 has been closed in both directions in Berkshire for emergency works, according to National Highways.
The road is closed between between junction 10, near Wokingham and junction 11 near Reading, following the discovery of structural damage to a power line pylon near the motorway.
National Highways says the work by Southern Electricity Networks is likely to continue throughout the morning and diversions are in place, external for traffic travelling in both directions.
A spokesperson for National Highways says the “urgent repair” is needed as strong winds are forecast for the the area on Wednesday evening.
