Winter Olympics 2026: New Zealand’s Dane Menzies tops men’s snowboard slopestyle qualification, with Marcus Kleveland and Mark McMorris also advancing- daily results

Menzies, who grew up in Canmore, Canada, but is competing for New Zealand, showed up ready to win today, he said he found out about the schedule change while he was in the sauna stretching. “I was like, ‘Here we go’. I guess we’ve got to get this done. I was stressed but also stoked to just get it over with.”
Menzies shook off the nerves to put down the run of the day right out of the gate. Menzies scored nearly a perfect ten on his first rail—a backside lipslide 270, his jump line featured a switch backside 1260, into a frontside 1440, and finishing with a backside 1620 for emphasis.
Menzies says the New Zealand team have been locked in at these Olympic Games, “Everybody is on the same page. We’re all good friends and we like hanging out with each other, spending time together. It’s just good vibes…”
