Toss Italy chose to field vs West Indies

Italy’s stand-in captain Harry Manenti won the toss and opted to bowl against West Indies in what was the final group-stage fixture for both sides, at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. While West Indies are unbeaten in the tournament and have qualified for the Super Eight, Italy are hoping to sign-off with one more win, having beaten Nepal last week in Mumbai.

Italy made two changes, bringing back fast bowler Thomas Draca and handing batter Syed Naqvi his first game at the T20 World Cup. They came in place of Jaspreet Singh and Marcus Campopiano.

West Indies had no reason to fiddle with their winning combination, resisting the temptation of giving reserve batter Quentin Sampson a game. Allrounder Jason Holder is featuring in his 300th international game. He is West Indies’ highest wicket-taker in this World Cup so far, with seven strikes in three innings at an economy rate of 9.25.
