Final Injury Report for Bucks-Pelicans: Will Giannis Antetokounmpo, Trey Murphy III Play?

The Milwaukee Bucks are on the road on Friday night as they travel to take on the New Orleans Pelicans in an interconference matchup.

Milwaukee enters Friday’s game with a 23-30 record after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road last Thursday in their last game ahead of the All-Star break.

In Thursday’s victory over the Thunder, Ousmane Dieng led the way for the Bucks as he recorded 19 points, 11 rebounds and six assists while Bobby Portis added 15 points, 12 rebounds and three assists of his own off the bench.

Now Milwaukee will try to grab another victory on the road on Friday as they face off against a struggling Pelicans team.

On the other side, New Orleans enters Friday’s contest with a 15-41 record after losing at home to the Miami Heat last Wednesday in their final game before the All-Star break.

Zion Williamson led the way for the Pelicans in Wednesday’s loss as he ended the game with 25 points, four rebounds and three assists while Trey Murphy III recorded 19 points, four rebounds and six assists.

While both teams are looking to pick up a victory in Friday night’s matchup, both squads may be without multiple key players due to injuries.

For the Bucks, they have three players listed on their injury report, including both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Myles Turner.

Milwaukee has ruled out Giannis due to a right calf strain as he will miss his 10th consecutive contest.

With Giannis still sidelined, Dieng, Portis and Jericho Sims could all continue to have larger roles.

The Bucks have also ruled out Turner due to a right calf strain as he will miss his second straight game while Taurean Prince remains sidelined while recovering from neck surgery he underwent earlier this season.

Pelicans Injury Report: Will Trey Murphy III, Yves Missi Play?

On the other side, the Pelicans have four players listed on their injury report, including both Murphy III and Yves Missi.

New Orleans has listed Murphy III as doubtful due to a right shoulder contusion that caused him to exit their final game before the All-Star break early and he is expected to miss Friday’s game.

With Murphy III likely to be sideline against the Bucks, Bryce McGowens, Jeremiah Fears and Jordan Hawkins could all be in line for increased roles.

The Pelicans have ruled out Missi due to a left calf strain as he will miss his second consecutive contest which could allow for Karlo Matkovic and Kevon Looney to have larger roles.

Micah Peavy has also been ruled out due to a right toe sprain while Dejounte Murray remains sidelined while recovering from a ruptured right Achilles.
