What is cut line at Genesis Invitational? Will Scottie Scheffler miss cut?

Ryan O’Halloran: PGA Tour’s ad about Players is conversation starter
The PGA Tour debuted a commercial last week saying, “March Is Going To Be Major,” in reference to The Players Championship.
We’re monitoring the cut line at the 2026 Genesis Invitational to see which PGA Tour golfers make or miss the cut.
Rain threw Round 1 at Riviera Country Club through a loop, leading to some players finishing their first round while others got started on their second. That makes tracking the cut line a little tricky. It’s unclear whether all players will finish Round 2 by the end of play Friday.
Scottie Scheffler got off to another rocky start, going 5 over for his first 10 holes. He’s struggled in the first round repeatedly this season, but he’s yet to finish outside the top 5 in three tournaments. There won’t be as many cuts with the limited field at this Signature Event, but J.J. Spaun, Justin Rose and Russell Henley are among those looking for a strong Day 2.

Here’s a look at who is in line to make and miss the cut at the tournament:
As of 6:45 p.m. ET, the projected cut line at the Genesis Invitational was even par, rising throughout the afternoon after starting the day at 4 over. Players with a score of even or better would qualify for the weekend if the current cut line holds. Projections from Data Golf estimate the cut line at the end of Round 2 to remain at even or rise to 1 over.

How many players make the cut at Genesis Invitational?
Of the 72 golfers who entered the tournament, 50 are guaranteed to make the cut and play this weekend. That number can grow to account for ties, and players within 10 strokes of the lead also get to play the weekend. Last year, when the tournament was played at Torrey Pines, 54 players made the cut at 4 over par. In 2024 at Riviera, 51 players made the cut at 1 over.
