Second Lady Usha Vance asks supporters to donate diapers instead of gifts in emotional pregnancy post

Second Lady Usha Vance, recently took to X to express her gratitude to supporters as she and Vice President JD Vance prepare to welcome their fourth child. In the emotional social media post, she urged people to donate to their local diaper banks in place of sending gifts to the expecting couple. In the viral X post, Vance thanks supporters for their “outpouring of love and excitement” as she and her family prepare to welcome their fourth child. “Your support means more to us than we can say,” expressed the 40-year-old mother of three.

However, in place of gifts, she said the couple would be “honoured” if people could consider making a donation to their local diaper bank to help “families in need.”Many in the comments section of the post appreciated the Second Lady’s effort of initiating community impact and incentivising help for those in need. While some termed her move as “elite parenting” others hailed the MAGA slogan of “Make America Great Again.”On January 20, the vice president and his wife took to social media to announce that they were expecting their fourth child, a baby boy due in late July. They also said that both mother and child are healthy. “We’re very excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy. Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July,” the Instagram post read. The couple also expressed gratitude to the military doctors and staff members who take “excellent care of our family,” so that they can serve the country while enjoying “a wonderful life with our children.”The couple who got married in 2014 are already parents to three kids, Ewan, 8, Vivek, 5 and Mirabel, 4. Along with being the youngest woman to serve as second lady since 1949, Usha Vance is now the first vice presidential spouse to be pregnant while her husband is in office. The news comes at a time when White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt is also expecting a baby, her second child with her businessman husband, Nicholas Riccio, adding to the MAGA baby celebrations.VP JD Vance has often spoken about the importance of raising children throughout his political career. Addressing the crowd at the 2025 March for Life, he said: “Let me say very simply: I want more babies in the United States of America.” He added, “I want more happy children in our country, and I want beautiful young men and women who are eager to welcome them into the world and eager to raise them.”As for the second lady, she joined her husband on a tour of Armenia and Azerbaijan from February 9 to 11, 2026. Now, she has recently launched a Bookmark Design Challenge: Celebrating America’s 250th, which encourages students in grades K-8 to create an original hand-drawn bookmark depicting what America means to them. The SLOTUS will herself be selecting three national winners who will be invited to Washington, DC, in summer 2026 to participate in a series of celebratory events.
