The presenter of Love Island Maya Jama has responded to viewer worries following her highly anticipated comeback to the programme.
ITV’s popular dating reality show has hit its halfway mark and with it, perhaps the most explosive segment of its 13th series. Yet fans had lately found themselves distracted as they voiced concerns about a ‘vanished’ celebrity.
Many began questioning the whereabouts of cherished host Maya, as she hadn’t been spotted since the opening episode, which broadcast on June 1. In earlier series, Maya would make several surprise visits for different purposes.
This encompassed hosting a task for the Islanders or announcing the outcome of a viewer poll. Nevertheless, the sole voting results thus far have arrived via text message, reports OK!

All of this prompted some viewers to grow worried about the Bristol-born personality. One individual posted on social media: “Has Maya only stepped into the Villa once this season? ? Where is she?”
Another enquired: “Is Maya on annual leave this season?” Yet it wasn’t long before they received what they wanted.
Prior to Sunday evening’s episode being shown on television, Maya shared some photographs on X displaying her newest ensemble for the series. She wrote alongside it: “Heard you missed me.. Back on your tv tonight at 9pm.”
She certainly made a surprise arrival at the villa to announce news of a massive revelation. The moment had finally arrived for Casa Amor, and the arrival of a host of fresh bombshells hoping to cause a stir and capture the attention of an original Islander.
Subsequently, ITV confirmed the line-up of new arrivals, which includes Irish influencer Charleen Murphy and the brother of renowned YouTuber Jordon Wilson, among others.

As Maya celebrated her return, a fan quoted her post and remarked: “You literally haven’t been on since the first episode lol.”
In an unexpected move, Maya promptly responded: “Yeah girl it’s not up to me. S*** I missed the villa too.” The fan then retorted: “I wasn’t hating on Maya lol. I know she’s booked and busy.”
Meanwhile, another person added their two cents: “People think Maya can just rock up to the villa when she wants.”
Other viewers also took to the internet to express their delight at seeing Maya back on their screens. One commented: “I miss seeing Maya she look stunning.”
Another chimed in: “The islanders are even shocked Maya is here because she hasn’t been there since the first episode.”
Fans may not have to wait as long for her next appearance, judging by her recent social media activity. While she was back in the UK filming another episode of Aftersun, her latest Instagram stories reveal she is now back in Spain.
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
