His father, Rob, is Japanese-Canadian.
His mother, Amanda, is actually British.

Nick Suzuki’s family upbringing
Suzuki’s parents Rob and Amanda were certainly hockey parents.
They got to take all the journeys with Nick and his brother Ryan as they worked their way into long hockey careers.
Nick also battled health issues when he was small, including hand, foot and mouth disease; pneumonia due to respiratory synctial virus; and recurrent ear infections.
