Northern line part suspended after fire alert – here are the alternatives

A Tube line has been partially suspended following a fire alert.

Trains heading southbound between Tooting Broadway and Morden on the Northern line are not running, with the disruption caused by a fire alert at Colliers Wood station.

Transport for London (TfL) confirmed that all other directions and parts of the Northern line remain in operation.

Commuters travelling from Tooting Broadway to Morden have several alternative routes:

Tooting Broadway to Morden

Passengers can travel by bus between the two stations.

One route involves taking the 131 bus to Colliers Wood and changing onto the 470 service to Morden, with a total journey time of about 23 minutes.

Other options include taking the 280 bus and changing to the 45 service, or using the 264 bus followed by the 201.

These journeys take around 30 to 35 minutes.

Cycling between the stations takes roughly 17 minutes, while walking the 3.6km route would take about 50 minutes.

Morden to Tooting Broadway

The quickest option is via the Northern line, with Tube journeys taking around six minutes and total travel time of about 12 to 13 minutes including walking.

Bus alternatives are also available, including the 201 and 280 services, with journeys taking just over 30 minutes.
