HASTINGS, Neb. (WOWT) – Tom Osborne, born Feb. 23, 1937, in Hastings, Nebraska, turns 89 years old today.
Osborne served as head coach of the Nebraska football team from 1973 to 1997, compiling 13 conference championships and three national titles.
After coaching, Osborne served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Nebraska’s 3rd Congressional District.
Osborne later returned to the University of Nebraska as athletic director in 2007. He retired in 2012.
