Kat Timpf is set to return to Gutfeld! exactly as scheduled, following a six-week, postponed maternity leave.
Timpf will reclaim her seat on Fox News’ nightly panel show starting Monday, February 20, LateNighter has confirmed.
At the end of Gutfeld!‘s January 9 episode, Timpf announced she would be taking a six-week break to complete the maternity leave she originally intended to take last winter, before a breast cancer diagnosis upended her plans just hours before the birth of her first child.
Timpf explained how her initial maternity leave turned into what she called “cancer leave,” as she spent much of the next four months undergoing treatment.
“My maternity leave sucked,” she said during her January 9 announcement, noting that cancer treatment and surgery prevented her from doing things many new mothers take for granted—including picking up her newborn son in the weeks after his birth.
Timpf stressed at the time that her Gutfeld! hiatus would be temporary, and that she planned to return fully to both her TV gig and stand-up comedy. “I’m going to be so back,” she avowed.
Timpf joined Fox News in 2015. In addition to serving as a Fox News analyst and a panelist/co-host on Gutfeld! (which airs weeknights at 10 p.m. ET), she also contributed to Fox Nation’s Greg Gutfeld’s What Did I Miss? game show (in which contestants, isolated for 90 days, guess what has happened in the world), alongside its eponymous host and comedian Jamie Lissow.
