ATP Dubai Day 2 Predictions Including Daniil Medvedev vs Shang Juncheng

A busy day of ATP Dubai action is scheduled for Tuesday. Twelve matches will be played, including the battle between 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev and Shang Juncheng. We here at LWOT split our predictions across three articles, with contests including Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Ugo Humbert and Jakub Mensik vs Hubert Hurkacz. But who will advance?

ATP Dubai Day 2 Predictions

Fabian Marozsan vs Arthur Rinderknech

Head-to-head: Marozsan 2-1 Rinderknech

Marozsan defeated Rinderknech in four sets at this year’s Australian Open. Despite much grit from the Frenchman, his more powerful opponent overwhelmed him in the end. However, I am backing Rinderknech to get revenge here. Although both tournaments are played on outdoor hard courts, conditions in Dubai are different from those at the Australian Open, and they favor Rinderknech more.

Prediction: Rinderknech in 3

Tallon Griekspoor vs Otto Virtanen

Head-to-head: First meeting

This will be Griekspoor’s first singles match in ten days. Despite some possible rust, I doubt he will face many issues against Virtanen. The Dutchman’s game is superior in all areas, and he possesses adequate variety if he needs to throw his opponent off-rhythm. Virtanen will do well to win a set.

Prediction: Griekspoor in 2

Andrey Rublev vs Valentin Royer

Head-to-head: Royer 1-0 Rublev

Royer’s victory against Pierre-Hugues Herbert in Doha was his lone singles victory of 2025. He almost certainly requires a much-improved level to challenge Rublev. The ten-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist enters this matchup after a solid week at the Qatar Open. I doubt Royer will be able to live with Rublev’s ball-striking, especially in conditions that suit his game.

Prediction: Rublev in 2

Daniil Medvedev vs Shang Juncheng

Head-to-head: Medvedev 1-0 Shang

Medvedev beat Shang 6-4 6-2 a few days ago in Doha. The Chinese player’s chances of getting revenge seem slim. Although conditions in Doha and Dubai are not identical, they do not differ much. That plays straight into Medvedev’s hands, who has been playing better since the closing stages of 2025. Expect him to triumph again here.

Prediction: Medvedev in 2
