TV Ratings (17/02/2026): Intimacy Week Drama Draws In 6M Eyeballs

More than three million Aussies were enthralled by Married At First Sight’s intimacy week drama. From Steven refusing to kiss Rachel, Steve calling it quits with Rebecca to Brook walking out of her marriage, popcorn was a necessity for viewers overnight.

Steven found himself in the dog house on Nine’s broadcast of MAFS last night as he refused to kiss Rachel. She wanted her Love Actually moment, getting Steven to read out-loud cards of her expressing feelings for him. All was going well until the final card was read out.

The card tasked Steven with kissing his wife and making her “feel something”. He refused, as he was worried that he would be faking it to make her feel something. This rejection caused Rachel to break down crying and eventually move out of their apartment for the night.

However, a total TV national average audience of 1,820,000 saw Steven’s redemption arc that got him back in his wife’s good books. After talking to expert Alessandra, he rethought his actions and deemed if he was put in that position again, he would act differently.

Alessandra saw this as a challenge and sent the couple a challenge following her talk with Steven. The challenge was to share a kiss for three minutes. Steven kept to his promised and finally showed his wife some emotion. The kiss impressed Rachel, who was stunned with excitement.

The episode finished with wife Brook departing husband Chris to return to her family in Brisbane. But viewers suspect this is because she is pregnant with her ex-boyfriend/now fiancée. All will be revealed tonight at the dinner party.

Over on Eveleigh Street, Seven’s most popular entertainment program of the night was The Chase. The episode pulled in a reach of 1,863,000 and an average of 537,000.

Network 10’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here ranked 13th in the TV ratings with a reach of 938,000 and an average of 513,000.
