Katherine Hartley Short, Martin Short’s eldest daughter, has died. She was 42.
Short’s representative confirmed the news in a Tuesday, Feb. 24 statement to USA TODAY that read: “It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short. The Short family is devastated by this loss, and asks for privacy at this time.”
“Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world,” the statement continued.
No further details were shared.
Short’s daughter, who graduated from New York University in 2006, was a licensed clinical social worker working in Los Angeles. Her mother, Short’s late wife Nancy Dolman, died in August 2010 following a battle with ovarian cancer.
