Snow Emergency Lifted In Greenwich, Town Announces

GREENWICH, CT — First Selectman Fred Camillo has lifted the snow emergency that has been in place since Sunday morning, according to an announcement from the town. The restrictions were lifted effective at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The snow emergency had restricted on-street parking within town to allow Department of Public Works crews to effectively clear and clean roadways after a massive blizzard dropped at least 16 inches of snow in the Greenwich area. The emergency also kept roads clear for first responders.
Residents are now able to park in permitted spots on town streets. However, drivers should note that street parking in Greenwich is likely to remain impacted by the snow for the time being.
Light snow is in the forecast for Wednesday, but temperatures are expected to reach the 40s later in the week.
The town said DPW crews will continue to work to remove snow that has been plowed from the streets, and there may be parking spots that are inaccessible during the cleanup.
Residents are being asked to have patience and allow extra time to find a parking spot.
Camillo offered deep thanks to DPW, Parks and Recreation, the Fleet Department, Greenwich Police Department, Greenwich Fire Department, Greenwich Emergency Medical Service and Emergency Management Director Joe Laucella for their work during the blizzard.
